Suggestion
BTW, I also run straight thru pipes for a while....not recommended unless you have some kind hearing disorder that requires un-blocking.

Suggestion
can do is make an aggressive (LOUD) sounding exhaust that uses the factory PSE option to open a valve that makes it even LOUDER!!!
Use pair of universal canister single in dual out mufflers

Suggestion
If this is just a pair of mufflers this system can be made using a pair of universal canister single in dual out mufflers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have searched and read. Found sound clips and only pics of the rear tips of the exhaust, BUT I dont understand how this system installs. It looks like it is just two mufflers and you cut the factory pipes. But even then you need a L-adapter pipe to make them fit. I even called Tubi in michigan and they couldnt tell me how it installs, I am waiting on a call from Champion. If this is just a pair of mufflers this system can be made using a pair of universal canister single in dual out mufflers.
I am shocked if this is how the system is. I cant find any pics of it installed on the car from underneath
Tubi can't tell you how it installs and you still want to consider buying one? I've got some duct tape I'll sell you...
I'm sure it bolts/straps/glues up in there somehow.
It will make your car louder and resonate, but if the duct tape is applied correctly you won't get many rattles...
What???
If THEY don't know then who does! This was one of my issues with Tubi, nobody seems to know very much about the actual product...not even the manufacturer it seems!!
That and the fact that there are no confirmed gains.
to be fair, although I can't comment on cabin resonance (fabspeed is **** for this BTW) the sound of tubi from the outside seems to be the best by far of all the aftermarkets mufflers. I am still waiting to hear cayman PSE before I go which way ( i loved PSE on my 996)
getting 10 hp is not something I am really bothered about....
well no call from Tubi or Champion Motorsports today. Guess I will have to call them tomorrow and see if anyone there knows how it installs.
Really I found what looks like the same exhaust on ebay. The only thing Tubi told me was that the exhaust for the boxster and cayman were the same thing. This looks pretty similar exept it doesnt have the cross over pipe.

**In my opinion the SMARTEST thing an aftermarket exhaust manuf. can do is make an aggressive (LOUD) sounding exhaust that uses the factory PSE option to open a valve that makes it even LOUDER!!! Basically the same that ferrari does on their cars. Of course the factory exhaust has the right idea. There is a guy on ******** who modifies the factory exhaust by rebuilding the inside. I heard one of them at a porsche meet last week, sounds real good.
I have the Tubi on my Cayman S and its awesome. I picked up mine from champion, brought it home, and put it on in my driveway with my dad in about 45 min. There is no cutting required whatsoever. All you need is a jack, some jack stands and assorted wrenches and sockets. The hardest part of the job was some of the nuts and bolts are hard to reach. Be sure you have a few extenders etc for your socket wrenches. It's also definitely a 2 person job. One guy to hold things in place while the other guy tightens things down.
As for the sound. I get compliments at lights on a weekly basis. A guy in ferrari 360 pulled up next to me me the other day after chasing me for a few lights and couldn't stop saying how ridiculously amazing my car sounded.
It's loud when you want it and tolerable when you don't. At times when I have a long day at work and a slight headache the resonance can be a bit annoying. At all other times it is awesome!
So did it come with pipes that go to the cats? Tubi told me it is only 2 mufflers with no pipes and no tips. (tubi michigan)
Factory:
Tubi: even placed backwards on the website:
HOW THE HELL DOES IT FIT WITH NO PIPING!!!!!!!TUBI SAID THE SYSTEM IS ONLY MUFFLERS WITH NO PIPES OR TIPS!!!!ALL YOU GUYS WITH TUBI EXHAUSTS STILL HAVE NOT ANSWERED THIS QUESTION!
did yours come with only 2 mufflers? everyone who says they have it says they love it but how many pieces? do you have pics from under the car?
is this the twilight zone? Manda me photos Cocodrilo quiero ver algo, nadie quiere enceniar photos debajo del caro!-I speak it fluently not write it.
Just 2 pieces, very simple. TUBI fitted like a glove to my Miltek headers. You use the same stardard exhaust tips, and If I remember well no set of CATS. See pics here
http://www.planet-9.com/showthread.php?t=3203&highlight=tubi+pictures
thats what I thought but Tubi said that all the pieces are shown in the pic. The distributor in michigan said its only two mufflers, no pipes, no tips. So thats why I am asking did anyone here get more pieces than what is pictured on the website. Looks cool on the car, :helpme: BUT STILL NO ANSWER TO MY QUESTION! sorry.:argue:
1. two pieces you say, does that mean the two pieces in the pic? just the two mufflers? OR are there pipes included?
2. no pics just red X's
3. can anyone reply with a answer to how it fits with no pipes? OR once again did tubi not take pics of them and took pics of the mufflers backwards.
lol relax, if he did it on his driveway i'm sure it was a bolt-on affair... in fact, all tubi's are bolt-on. If there were no piping with it, then you would HAVE TO cut.
I wouldn't put too much stake in the photo's... usually its marketing who arranges it to take pictures, and they have no clue what the product is.
the Tubi exhaust sounds so amazing that i'd buy it regardless of how it installed.
I dont think you understand look at the pic of the factory exhaust, the factory mufflers are L shaped. If you cut the factory pipe where the muffler starts it cannot reach the tubi muffler. Can ANYONE answer if there are pieces missing?
it is not possible for it to reach the cats.
it comes with the L shaped pipe.
I was at Buttonwillow this weekend, a lot of people loved it including two 911 owners. I wish it would be lauder and it definitely sounds better than the 911 tubi which is good as well.
BTW, if you simply run
straight pipes
out of your headers it is
AWESOME
, it is
WAY
louder than the Tubi setup which seems mild by comparison. Everyone I know who has heard an open-pipe system has remarked about how loud it sounds and how it reminds them of the old Porsches running at LeMans in the 70's. It is also the simplest system to install because well, there is nothing to install, you just remove unnecessary weight!
Ok kidding aside, you should listen in person to the various exhaust systems and drive them yourself if at all possible before making a decision. I say this because I've seen people say "Tubi sounds awesome" publicly and meanwhile I receive a PM or email from the person asking how they should sell it because they can't stand the drone at cruise speeds. Everyone's preferences are going to be different so you owe it to yourself to decide what it is you want in an exhaust system and which system best meets your needs.
I absolutely agree with Ken on this one. Hear/try several models before you commit. TUBI is awesome but does have some mild "drone" you need to get used to it. Not a big issue, at least for me. I enjoy every bit of it
Ditto on the L-shaped pipe. You just made me go out to the parking lot at the office and crawl under my car. The setup comes from Tubi with 2 L-shaped pipes that go from each muffler to each header.
Hope you got the reply in time before you blew an anneurism.
Feel free to call me with any other questions

I have a brand new tubi in the box - unopened. Its a long story but I have 2 tubi systems. Please contact me directly if you are interested. It does sound awesome. BTW, I also run straight thru pipes for a while....not recommended unless you have some kind hearing disorder that requires un-blocking. Its not pleasant..
TT
how much does the tubi system cost? i think that champion's website is down as i cant click on the exhaust section.
and anyone has done a comparison between AWE, Tubi and Fabspeed?
I didnt purchase it. I am having a custom one made. It looks like Tubi is just what I thought. 2 straight thru mufflers, no cross over pipe. This is $150 in materials cost. If they had a cross over pipe it will be quieter. Milltek looks like it is the only company who really did the research, followed by AWE.
