Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Discussions that report identifying a cause
1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Reported cause

Let us know the fault and we can confirm what the problem was for sure.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 1 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I did a session on the dyno this morning and afterwards the check engine light was on and remained on. The dyno operator suggested it might be the ECU complaining about the front wheels not moving while on the dyno. Anybody else have ideas on what it might be? I don't have any instrumentation that can read fault codes right now.

POST 2Original post

Perhaps another death by dyno, just kidding. The problem very well may have been that they did not disable the PSM before running the test. Do you have a generic reader or Durametric software? Let us know the fault and we can confirm what the problem was for sure. Best, Scott

POST 3Original post

The check engine light cleared itself this evening, so I guess it was nothing serious. PSM was switched off at the beginning of the dyno runs, but I think that at some point the engine may have been switched off and when it was restarted, PSM may not have been switched back off. Perhaps that's the reason. In any case, the car seems 100% fine.

POST 4Original post

The exact same thing happened to me the first time I dyno'd my car; stressed me out a little because I had just finished breaking my engine in. It will eventually go out, nothing to worry about.

POST 5Original post

The same thing happened to me. The CEL stayed on for 3 or 4 subsequent restarts - maybe 50 miles - and then went out.

POST 7Original post

and me as well, very common in cars w ESP/PSM/traction control/etc.
