Just clean up that area first then start monitoring if the root-cause is coming from that seal.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thoughts? Coud it be the AOS, spark plug tubes or valve cover? Possible overfill? Cleaned it up and will be monitoring to see where exactly the leak is happening.

POST 2Original post

Damn, looks like it's been leaking for a long time!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks to be misting from the most part since there's nothing really on the floor.

POST 5Original post

Looks like the variocam solenoid seal. May want to clean it up good so you can see exactly where the oil is seeping from.

It does look like most of the build up is in that area. A good cleaning and a few miles will reveal itself.

POST 7Original post

+1 on the variocam Solenoid seal, cheap part & pretty easy access to that area to clean and replace that rubber seal. I replaced both of the seals since they started sweating with oil. Just clean up that area first then start monitoring if the root-cause is coming from that seal. Cheers,
