Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

In my 2005 Boxster, the loudspeakers left and right, produces rattles and squeaks when playing music. It doesn't make any difference when I play it hard or with low volume. It looks like the cones might be damaged but I'm not sure about this. In my Audi A6 2000 model I had to replace all loudspeakers as the rubbers were dried out. Could this be the same problem? I live in a hot and dry climate. If the are damaged where can I buy replacements? Could I also use off market types instead of OEM versions? What can be fitted? Ps I have recently ordered the rear speaker kit. My headunit is a CDR-24. Eddy

POST 2Original post

As suspected the rubbers were dried out and broken, see attachment. I replaced them with after market versions from Swiss Audio, which were a perfect match. Eddy
