Yes, I did check KBB and did not find the invoice price but, I agree with the car sitting on the lot I have a good chance of negotiating a lower sales price.

I amazed that my super clean 2000 with only 22k miles on it books out at $48k.

BTW, seen my old Boxster S running around your neck of the woods by any chance?

I wonder if we'll run into each other on the Ferrari Modena forums someday
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I stopped by the local Porsche dealer and eyeballed a new black/black C4S that had just came off the truck. MSRP is $93k. The car has Bose, Sport Sound Package, Aluminum Package, Rear Wiper, Full Leather, Heated and Sport Seats (nice!!), Power Drivers Seat, and maybe a few other options. The sales manager says they have great deals now on leases for both 36 and 60 month terms. He is willing to reduce the car to $90K and get the 60 month payments to about $1100 (including tax) with movie change as the down.
Is this a good deal???? Inquiring minds want to know.
not good deal. the car is well optioned but you only get 3k off.
in 2002, C4S just came out and was hot. i bought one at $4k off on a stripped car, only option was PSE. so, IMHO, you should get more discount than just $3k.
Where are you guys seeing invoice prices listed on the net? Both KBB and Edmonds shows N/A for the invoice price.
[edit - I see that you can get invoice prices for 2003 models though]
is it really feasible to get a new C4S at invoice? Agreed $3k off is not a good deal but I was not aware invoice was a possibility on C4S, maybe on a C2.
if the car is sitting on the lot then invoice is ALWAYS possible.
they'd rather sell the car than see you walk away. 996s aren't selling all that great since the economy isn't so hot and everybody seems to want a cayenne. then the 997 will be coming out soon so the remaining 996s will be harder for them to sell.
I would expect you could get $4-5 k off a C4S , but not more.
They are somewhat limited production.
Spring is always a strong car market , so if the dealer does not sell the car to you he knows it should move soon.
Thanks everyone for the feedback and comments. Yes, I did check KBB and did not find the invoice price but, I agree with the car sitting on the lot I have a good chance of negotiating a lower sales price. I amazed that my super clean 2000 with only 22k miles on it books out at $48k. MSRP was $90k when I bought it 10/99. I may take "the old dogg" out and get him waxed up and keep riding for awhile.
C4S's sell pretty quickly around here (Seattle/Bellevue). I was looking at two at the same time as the 40th Anniv which I eventually bought. This was two weeks ago. Last week one C4S sold; I was at the dealer today and the second one was gone too. I think they were on the market for no more that 2 or 3 weeks!
Pete,
I can't believe you didn't decide to copy me and buy a C4S instead of that 40th anniversary model, but hey glad you finally decided to be different !
BTW, seen my old Boxster S running around your neck of the woods by any chance?
Oh and as for deals on a C4S, I got mine for a couple K over invoice last June.
Ghost Rider, do I know you??? The only person that I know of that would say I was copying them in car purchases would be Ken in Kansas City?!
I was ready to buy an '03 TT X50 or an '04 C4S when I found out about the 40th Anniversary Edition. After looking at the price vs. features, power to weight ratios, looks, etc., the 40th Anniv won out. Love it. The money I saved by not getting the TT is going toward upgrading the Beetle to 500HP
Hee hee...
Let me guess, Speed Yellow. The C4S that I was looking at was Speed Yellow
Too funny.
I wonder if we'll run into each other on the Ferrari Modena forums someday
Hint hint
Both are superb and it was really a tough choice. In the end, since I'm a track junkie, so I prefer the lighter weight, more power, and limited slip differential of the Anniv car. Also the X51 package's torque curve is perfect for high performance track driving while the stock motor is tuned for a bit more mid-range for daily driving.
Then, when I added the normal cost of all the options that are included in the price of the Anniv car, it really made the decission easy; normally, the options would cost well over $20K more so I figured I effectively got $20K off the MSRP of an equally equiped C4S. Of course, that's more of head game because I would normally not order those options due to the extra cost. But, it was a bonus for me.
Anyway, the Anniv 911 meets or exceeds all my expectations of a 911 (I came from a Boxster S).
In short, I love it. I just ordered some personalized plates for it: NIRWANA (German spelling of nirvana). That should tell you how I feel about it
I keep wondering why these 40th anniversary cars are always in my rear-view mirror at the track, I wonder if the extra hp doesn't make up for the suspension and traction differences of the C4S...
Oh and to answer your question, check

Enjoy!
Pete,
How appropriate Nirvana and in Washington state...
By the way I have a friend interested in a 40th Anniversary 911 and he's asked me several times if it's the extra money, I take it that by your posts that you will say yes, but can you be more specific as to why.
