I got an Audi A3 Saloon from Brooklands, but they are a service centre and used outlet only.

Suggestion
It’s usually a random selection of Porsche models from my local OPC, but they are currently running a fleet of identical Audi A5 S-Lines apparently due to the short supply of new Porsche’s.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I put my old jalopy in for a service in July and was looking forward to a nice courtesy car given the OPC tax.
I got a very nice Skoda Fabia.
They couldn’t use the excuse they were all booked out as I booked my service months in advice so they came up with the shortage of cars due to current worldwide issues.
What did you get from your OPC at service time?
My US based OPC was reprimanded for using Audis as courtesy cars as they had the Audi dealership next door. When I bought my Cayenne I had some warranty work that ended up taking a couple of weeks. They gave me a Macan GTS and told me to try and break it by driving it as bad as possible.
First time round it was a BMW hybrid thing, tried to use it in electric only as it had a 32 mile range but it died after 12. Second time it was a Caynenne.
When our 718 Cayman 2.0 went in for its first service in 2020, we were given a Cayenne e-Hybrid.
When it went in a year later for its first MOT, I got their Cayman GTS 4.0 demo for the day (I didn't specifically ask for it). Naturally I ordered one later that week and we finally collected it in March!
Personally, I think it devalues the exclusivity of the Porsche brand to have a fleet of Porsche courtesy cars.
However, in normal times, they had loads and were given them by Porsche, to boost new registration numbers, for senior staff, demonstrators, loan cars, display cars, etc.
Always felt it it made them look like other mass market manufacturers.
I would be very happy with a VW or Audi. Only exception would be for customers who have bought new and have a long term warranty issue - they should be upgraded in some way.
I always enjoy jumping-in on threads like this, as I smile to myself at being given a Ford Fiesta courtesy car by a Ferrari main dealer (yes that's you Maranello Sales) when I took my lovely 550 in for its annual service. Didn't really bother me much at the time, I must admit. But on reflection it's probably not Maranello customer services finest hour.
Never had anything but another Porsche. Couple of times had a Boxster, once a Cayman, but all the other occasions a Cayenne or Macan. Last extended loan was an e-hybrid Cayenna which to be fair made a lovely daily - never thought i’d say that about an SUV Porsche…grrrrrr
Always a Porsche....had everything except a 911. I had to learn how to charge a Taycan loan car pronto when they couldn't get the work finished on my Cayenne.....I soon discovered that all charging points are not born equal. First one I tried gave me 14 miles range in 90 mins !
Used to get a Macan which is like driving a bus after a Cayman. Last two times I’ve had a Cayman T which has been interesting to try the PASM vs passive on mine. Not much in it, but the PASM in normal mode is slightly more forgiving on rough roads such that I’d probably consider optioning it on the next one.
Bentley are playing the “we don’t have any courtesy cars at the moment” game.
Should I tell them to bugger off or is that their right not to supply one?
Anyway, never had a Aston courtesy car from Aston, always Merc A/C classes and once a Jaguar XF.
It’s usually a random selection of Porsche models from my local OPC, but they are currently running a fleet of identical Audi A5 S-Lines apparently due to the short supply of new Porsche’s.
Told no cars available on my last service. I explained I was interested in buying a cayenne e-hybrid and when I turned up it was there waiting for me. I went on to order it
I think it completely depends whether the OPC think you're a potential customer of a new car from them or not. Which will explain why I'm always given various flavours of BMWs from their dealership next door.
Whereas I've seen other customers, whilst I've been waiting in reception, given higher spec Porsches than the ones they are dropping off.
I currently have a Cayenne e-hybrid whilst my 991.2 Turbo S is in for service.
Previously I’ve had Boxsters, 992 Carreras and once had a C class Mercedes but that was swapped out for a Boxster after the service lady called to offer the exchange. They even dropped it off and picked up the Merc.

Curious as have not had many dealings with OPC...
Do the OPC supply these vehicles under their own insurance or customers expected to organise their own cover?

Should be fully covered by the OPC insurance.
My Macan S driving dad received a £40 Porsche thermos today by way of apology for an OPC courtesy car cock up.
They’d withdrawn the car at the last minute as he’s too old. Insurance only covers up to age 80. He’s 82.
Do they charge? I am taking my 991 to get the alloys refurbished under the alloys wheel and tyre cover (issues with the paint) and I can get a courtesy car - but with a £15 a day charge and they need the car for the week.
Seems a bit steep?

OPC Insurance with £500 excess.
pretty sure the last time I had one it carried a £1000 excess
Definitely £500 for the loan car (Cayenne) I had two weeks ago…just checked the PDF copy of the doc I signed.
I was due to pick up a courtesy car one time. When I turned up the service rep apologised said the Cayman I was due to have hadn't come back. But give him 5 mins & he'd sort something.
He came back said it's all sorted. We walked out to the car park, & walked towards this tatty looking Passat. He apologised again & said take my car, we're going to sort something out & get you a car. We'll bring it to you, do you want us to come to your home or work? I drove home in his car, by the time I'd got there he called & said a driver is just heading over with the right car. 30 mins later driver turned up with a new 911. It was great they couldn;t finish mine on the friday so I had a new 911 for the weekend!
I’ve never had anything that wasn’t a Porsche fortunately.
718 Boxster (horrid thing with a 4cyl engine)
Taycan 4S
Cayenne
Macan
Colleague is currently in a Panamera, fully loaded, 23 plate with 200 miles on the clock. Lovely thing to sit in, not so exciting to drive.
All I’ve taken from every courtesy car I’ve had is that the base model Porsches really aren’t all that great.

This was 2019 so dont have the paper work , It was a 911 so maybe thats differant
I've got my Cayman booked in soon, as it's still under extended warranty, and initially requested a 992 (natural next car and all that
) but was told they only have Macans or Cayennes. Either will do really.
Have the Macan booked in with Swindon next month, will see what I get. I was told I might get a BMW courtesy car!!
The lass did look suitably apologetic.
Does it really matter ? - if one gets a nice new 911 then all the better but a courtesy car is only to allow you to remain mobile while yours is in for repair . I only require transport to/from OPC to save my wife having to accompany me in her car.
The courtesy car ( I use the word lightly ) when my Exige was serviced was a “ get me home “ knackered old Audi A4 with I think 120k on the clock.
But it did indeed get me home - and back again.
My recent experience of taking my 991 in was a Macan, £500 excess. I had asked for a 982 or 992 but apparently they are few and far between as most customers have a Tacan/ Cayenne/ Macan/ Panamera so one of the others could be of limited use.
In the 2000's you certainly got a Boxster/ Cayman/ 911, I always thought they were tempting me to trade up.
It may be worth talking to the sales people in advance to enquire about a 982/ 992 as if interested, which you may well be.
I got an Audi A3 Saloon from Brooklands, but they are a service centre and used outlet only. They did tell me when I booked that their courtesy cars were either VW ID3's or Audi A3/A4.
I think if I went to Porsche West London I would have ended up with a Cayenne or Macan.
From 2013 to 2020 I used to get a nice Porsche whenever I took my old 987.2 in (under extended warranty)
I’ve had
981 Boxsters
718 Boxsters
Panameras incl E-hybrid
Macans (lots of these)
Most interestingly a restored 993 from their “Classic car fleet”
Never a modern 911 or Cayenne.
When covid hit the OPC sold all the courtesy cars. For a while they didn’t have any.
Now they have a number of Audi Q5 which are truly dire cars. I guess you appreciate your Porsche after a day or two in one of those.
I do miss the days when you’d have the fun of a nice new different Porsche to try out (although the Panameras were almost too big to fit on our drive)
