Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Posting for my dad- He's got a 987 Boxster with Bose audio, but his 6 CD changer in the frunk has been physically stuck for the longest time. I removed the power, MOST harness and carrier screws and then took it apart as much as I can to pull the 6 CD carrier out of the changer. I made sure nothing else was stuck, but when I re-installed it, I can't eject the CD carrier again. But this time, I cant even hear the mechanism of the player trying to eject the CD holder, like its getting no power. Also, now, I cant hear any audio from inside the car, no CDs or even AM/FM radio. Does anyone know a good fix? Or if the MOST bypass loop would fix this? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Have you checked the power cable with a meter to see if there is any voltage now? As for no sound anymore make sure the MOST cable has not been bent at too much of an angle. They need to be as straight as possible or with as much arc as possible. They really don't like angles. If you want to eliminate the changer all together then the MOST bypass loop would probably work. The changer is the last component at the end of the MOST cable.

POST 3Original post

Just a question about the bypass loop. I have a Cayman S with BOSE and had a Pioneer unit put in. Had him pull the CD changer and he mentioned a bypass loop in order to remove it. I now also have a Boxster S (both 987) with BOSE and no CD changer. Still has factory audio unit at this time. So, if they don't come with the 6 CD changer but have BOSE , the loop is installed at the factory? Just curious.

POST 4Original post

I realise this is quite an old thread but I have just bought a 987.1 and had this issue. The CD changer would occasionally make a noise when pressing eject but never ejected. I couldn't get it out by brute force. So, I looked up the fuse that corresponds with the CD changer (D9), pulled it, plugged it back in, and all is right with the world. It now works perfectly again. It may not work for every scenario, but homefully this will help somebody.
