Another option is to use a thick foamie to pad out your drink so that it fits snug even fully extended.

Cup holder does not stay at the set cup size. ie: adjust it to fit a cup and then drive the car and instead of being snug on the cup it is now loose and the cup has spilled. Anyone have similar problem with the cup holders? Any solution beside buying a new assembly? Thanks

Hands down the worst cup holders in the history of cup holders. Thankfully I have no plan to ever put a beverage in them.

It's actually a shame because the engineering that went into them is actually quite unique. It's just that they are so unstable and with anything in them at all, you should plan on a spill. Used them once in 10 years with a plain old bottle of water and even that was too scary.:cheers:

Your cup holders still work? I thought it was a given that they've all broken by now. Have you checked yours for cracks? A crack could easily cause your symptoms. My driver's-side cupholder has been glued back together twice and is presently reinforced with a bunch of heavy wraps of electrical tape. It won't retract, but at least still firmly holds a can of soda. The electrical tape helps quite a bit to hold it in place, too. Another option is to use a thick foamie to pad out your drink so that it fits snug even fully extended.

I have a set of these also and really like them. The only slight problem is that I have them set as close to the front of each seat as possible, so whenever anyone wants to move the seat forward I have to move the cupholder first. No biggie, and the positives far, far outweigh this slight negative.
