Now I can focus on the numerous other little noises the cockpit makes, all which change with the seasons, weather and mood of the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

So this noise has been coming and going from what appears to be the speaker grilles. It doesn’t have to do with audio as it happens without the stereo turned on, but I’m curious if anyone else has encountered this. I don’t want to go tearing the door card off without knowing what I even need to fix. Here’s a video of the sound and location: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1wXNNozkElFwU_QGJF2eOTlzOFYxv1yt-

POST 2Original post

I'm having trouble accessing your video, so don't know if this will help. But I recently resolved a year-long mysterious buzzing sound coming from what I THOUGHT was the instrument cluster… Or maybe the door speaker… Or, I know, my mirror adjustment trim. Oh, no… it's gotta be the diver's side air vent. Yeah! I was about to "tear out" my air vent—convinced that was it—when by sheer coincidence I found the culprit. On the back side of the fuse cover in the footwell is a small wire tool for fixing a locked ignition. This stupidly flimsy ityy-bitty little wire had come unfastened from one of the two clip holding it in place—and was vibrating against the plastic. I clipped it back in place, replaced the panel and, "voila," the buzzing was gone! I CAN'T believe that (A) this was it, and (B) how the buzzing noise sounded like it was coming from anywhere and everywhere but where it was. Now I can focus on the numerous other little noises the cockpit makes, all which change with the seasons, weather and mood of the car. So, I'm not sure if this helps your particular situation‚ but perhaps it will help someone squash an invisible bumblebee. Cheers and best of luck!

POST 3Original post

Hmm thanks for the tip, I’ll check it out later today! Curious why you can’t access the video though, maybe hosting from gDrive isn’t the best on the forums?

POST 4Original post

I'm sure the gDrive is "user error" on my password-forgetting part... I'm pretty analog when it comes to life in our digital age. "Google" is just a sound I remember making as a diaper-swathed baby. And sometimes after an ale or two. Cheers. EDIT: Oops, just remembered my password. FWIW, that's almost exactly the sound I was hearing, only mine was just a little higher in pitch (more a mosquito than a bumblebee)… And I'd have SWORN it was coming from the air vent or odometer reset or door pull or… But I can totally appreciate how annoying that is. I'd rather have an occasion trunk clunk or panel rattle than continuous buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
