Suggestion

I would probably start with checking the switches open and close state with multi-tester and take it from there.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My 07CS has an issue with only the passenger side window. Using either the drivers side or passenger side window control switch, if i bring the window down part way, and then click it up to auto-up the window, it brings the window down. and subsequent auto-up-clicks do not bring the window up, I have to manually hold it up to bring the window back up. I was looking for a thread with this issue but wasn't successful. If it is happening on both the drivers control and the passenger control switch, I have to think its not the switch, its whatever the component is that those two switches lead to, or some point after that in the control. can anyone tell me what that is? Or if there is something I'm missing? The motor seems fine, but im not too familiar with these subsystems. Any guidance would be great, thanks!

POST 2Original post

hey there have you tried resetting the window positions? IIRC move the window to top position, release then hold it in up position for 30 sec. this should tell the car when the window is in its top position.

POST 3Original post

I have not tried that, but im not sure why that would fix that pushing either passenger window control switch up brings the window down...

POST 4Original post

I would not exclude the switches as an issue. The window controls are relatively complicated and take time to troubleshoot. I would probably start with checking the switches open and close state with multi-tester and take it from there. If you decide to do that make sure you disconnect them from the car first. These are digital signals fed into controllers in each of the doors and then referred to the can bus in the car. I am attaching the wiring diagram for your reference. If you are uncomfortable dealing with it you may be better taking it somewhere for service. There is a risk of blowing up a gate on the controller and that is going to be expensive. From my experience that is usually a switch issue, although controllers go bad too. Of course as mentioned try the reset first. Good luck!

POST 5Original post

I have a 2009 and I get this issue sometimes as well

POST 6Original post

Have you tried anything to fix it? It seems to be a consistent issue with my passenger window, but i dont want to play with it too much for fear of making it worse.

POST 7Original post

I tried the reset and it did not work. I can't really make out that schematic, does anyone have a higher res image?

POST 8Original post

This was a common problem reported years back. Search "Window Ghosts." My 987 does this from time to time, my dealer said if nothing is obstructing the glass and the mechanism is ok (it is) it is a software issue reported to Germany. It only happens on the the passenger side when activated on the drivers side with me.

POST 9Original post

Mine doesn't do it from time to time, it does it every time. Driver's side window has no issue, but both the drivers side switch and the passenger side switch that control the passenger window will create the issue, which makes me thing its either both switches (which I doubt) or the controller that those switches send a signal to. The motor does seem fine though. If it is a software issue, is there no way to get it updated?
