Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Like the engine and the moving parts are not as light as the Boxster or an M3 (to use another reference), so there is more inertia.
Leading evidence: 'Use another reference)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use another reference)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently move up from a 01 Boxster S to a 02 Carrera cabrio. You really can feel the difference in power, but I also feel like, specially in first gear, the 911 engine is harder to rev. It's just the feeling, like it is not as sweet as the boxster. Could it be the effect of a stronger transmission or gearbox? Is it just my ilussion or somebody else feels this way?
I made a similar change in cars and would say the 996 motor revs just as easily as the Boxster's. I'm still in the break-in period and I find it almost impossible to not exceed 4000RPM in 1st gear because it spins up there so quickly!
Sorry I can not express it better, it's a sensation. Like the engine and the moving parts are not as light as the Boxster or an M3 (to use another reference), so there is more inertia. It is not a feeling of lack of power, the engine feels very powerful, but maybe not as light as those two that I mentioned. Maybe it's just me
A lower weight/hp ratio always makes a car feel lighter. If your C2 feels heavier, I'd wonder if it's making full power. You might need to drive the cars back-to-back, since aceleration is something you become acclimated to, and your memory may be faulty. AS
Well, compared to an M3 I'd say both Porsches feel slower in 1st gear because the M3 (E36) has a very short first gear. But I have to say that the 996 "revs" thru 1st gear more easily than the Boxster S. It seems to me that the flywheel is lighter than in the Boxster S; dunno for sure though.
have you considered a light weight flywheel? the car revs unbelievably faster with it (our E46 M3 seems doggy and slow reving now in comparison):

I too went from a 00 S to a 02 3.6 C2 and agree that though the 3.6 is faster and has way more torque the 3.6 engine has more mass as the pistons and such do weigh more as they are bigger and the engine doesn't feel as lively when you take it to 7k as the 3.2 does. It pulls great everywhere but with the stock ECU it seems to be holding it back slightly above 6k, sure does fell great though around 5k when the variocam changes..
