Well, after several years of saving money and seesawing on what to buy, I purchased a 2009 Speed Yellow Carrera S. It has the usual minor imperfections of a "pre-owned" car but the DME report was very clean and the car appears to have been well taken care of. I looked for a long time at the Cayman (S) but in the end felt more comfortable in the Carrera . Perhaps some day I'll get a Cayman S as my DD... I don't know that Ken will agree with my choice, but he certainly cannot argue with the color...

Thanks for your note. If you look at my "garage" I've uploaded one picture so far with the Bridger mountains as a backdrop. Let me know if you cannot see it. My car also has the SSK which I really like. It is quite different in feel than my E36 (understandably).

I got my '09 two years ago with ~ 7800 miles, and I love every minute I spend behind the wheel. In the Fall of '11 I drove it cross country, and back, to go to Rennsport Reunion IV, 6500 miles in total. It excels as a grand touring machine.

That is what partly pushed me toward the Carrera . I have a road trip planned to drive into Canada and felt like the Carrera would be great for such an endeavor. Now to wait for the spring/summer...

Thanks. Yes, the wheels are black. They look great against the yellow. The center console and seat belts are also yellow, so it makes for a great contrast with the black interior. The only two things it does not have are an LSD and the sport (adaptive) seats. I do find the standard seats to be very comfortable (for my frame) but would prefer the sport seats. I've ordered a CG-Lock to try at the next DE to see if that is sufficient. If not I'll start looking again for sport seats. I found a set on Ebay but they are more than I want to pay.

I've just taken the decision to go 997.2 Carrera 2 PDK (need PDK due to dmaged left knee!). I've currently got a Boxster 987.2 but am fed up only being able to really enjoy the top down 1 day a year in the UK and also have a dog. Great colour speed yellow but difficult to find used. I'm going to look for white or aqua blue.
