Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hope I just done the right thing?? I have bargained hard and bought a high miler 124k 996 in bright red tip 1998 with full history for 10k? Subject to inspection from engineer, but I never thought a 996 would drop below 10k? Was not really looking for one but thought at this dosh colour and spec it should be a safe bet fingers crossed? Pleasde dont tell me they will be 6k next year!!! Especially as my last one sold for twice this amount albeit probably a better car with lower miles but same year!!

POST 3Original post

Congrats & can't wait to see pics. 10k that's very cheap for a 996 :thumb: Couldn't have put it better myself. Summers on it's way (although you wouldn't know it)!!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No of course not but are you then saying tips worth a lot less than manual? Also pluto and back 127k on a 12 year old car?? My trusty Ford Galaxy has 200k on the clock. I just thought 10k was a good price for a nice straight car.

POST 6Original post

Rare colour for a standard 996, wasn't someone struggling to find one? If it checks out ok its a good buy IMO, start putting money aside over the next 12 months in case a Hartech job is required, still good value even then.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
