Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

During my messing about with the car yesterday I decided to try LED's in the door courtesy lights as I had a pair spare. The pictures do not do this justice, when you open the door at night it lights up the floor 100 times brighter than before. If I accidently opened my door to on-coming traffic it even gives off a really bright light during the day adding some safety.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You can get them from ultraleds.co.uk Do your side lights in your headlamps at the same time, it really freshens up the lights with a crisp White as aposed to candle-glow

POST 4Original post

LEDs I realise this is and old thread but there seems to be nothing on the 996 forum about replacing ordinary bulbs with LEDs on facelift 996 with the MOST bus. There is a thread currently running on the 997 forum where guys are replacing sidelight and foglight bulbs with LEDs that don't affect the CANBUS. Are these the LEDs I should be using on my 2003 Targa? Also, they are 5W whereas the 996 sidelight, for example, is 6w. Grateful for any advice please. David

POST 5Original post

I am having a blond moment.....which lamp do choose for my sidelights on my 02 targa? Many thanks.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The door safety lights are known as 501 or R501 or capless side-lamp, available in LED The facelift cars like yours support CANBUS as you have stated. This means you need CANBUS type bulbs. Just state this when you order them. The side lights are normally H6, you will need H6 - LED - CANBUS compatable. Trust me, they look blindin!
