Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car is in to have it's bumper resprayed, and they guys working on it left the keys in the ignition overnight... The result in the morning was a flat battery. I seem to remember from other threads on here, that running your battery totally flat is a sure-fire way to knacker it. Is this true? Could it have caused any other problems to the car? I expect I'll have to re-enter my radio code (which is fine). Will it have reset anything else electrical? E.g. the alarm... Thanks!

POST 2Original post

My battery has been totally flattened a few times because of the stereo 'freezing' in cold weather (pun intended), anway it charges back up and seems fine

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fair enough! Thanks for the reassurance!

POST 4Original post

Its not advisable to run your battery completely flat but it shouldn't ruin it as long as you don't make a habit of it
