Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After a nice day at Windsor found a ticket on the window. Went to call this morning with view to pay as the price doubles if not done quickly, but have just noticed that the reg number has been recorded incorrectly! Other details of car are correct. Haven't contacted them yet as I'm sure they will say PAY! :?:

POST 2Original post

Just did a quick google search. Plenty of people feel that the ticket is therefore invalid and they suggest you write to the issuer pointing out that the ticket is invalid and ask them to cancel it. That way you aren't refusing to pay. Also from memory, if you are contesting a ticket - the cheaper preiod is extended until after you have recieved the result of your appeal.

POST 3Original post

parking ticket they didnt record it wrong because you have a dodgy number plate...as in a 1 and 3 making up a B ....just making sure you cover yourself!

POST 4Original post

Last time I was done they took a picture of the car on the lines, showing the plate and then posted it on the website. Don't worry too much about the fine doubling if not paid within a certain time. If you register an objection in writing (Send it recorded delivery) it stops the clock.

POST 5Original post

Surely if they have recorded the number incorrectly they can't chase you for the fine - can they - they'll get the wrong address or the plate won't be recorded at all.

POST 6Original post

Every detail on the ticket must be correct otherwise the ticket is void, reg being the most critical! I got off a ticket because they got the colour of the car wrong. Did you know that if the parking attendant is not wearing his hat it's also void?!?

POST 7Original post

as oze172 said all details must be correct, had an issue 12 mnths ago with westminster council. Received letter in post advising me that a fixed penalty parking fine had been applied to my car when illegally parked etc etc, sad thing being the car was other end of the country at the time. I appealed and went through the process providing copy of tax disc applied to car, pictures of car, statements etc. The traffic warden who applied the ticket would not back down and it was heading to arbitration, one day before the hearing, received letter saying the case had been withdrawn. Seems they got it wrong and took a punt incase I could not defend my position. In terms of posting photo's on the website, apparently the warden does need to take a picky of the offending vehicle if they feel they are under threat.

POST 8Original post

Well I was half a mile away in a restaurant eating lunch, so not very threatening. It seems to be just something they do in Cambridge.

POST 9Original post

Out of curiocity use the number the put on the ticket and check it againsts one of the tyre websites that comes with the car model...... Lets see if the car exist and what model/make it is..... If the details are wrong there is no way I was going to pay them. Theo
