Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi - probably a silly question - when driving my 2003 X50 Turbo I regularly use well over 3500rpm. Yet when its in my garage and I rev it in nuetral it won't rev over this amount. Is this is normal??

POST 2Original post

Yes. It cuts the ignition in and out to stop you over-revving it in neutral.

POST 3Original post

Thank goodness it does... Only way a lot of Turbos pass the static noise test at track days! :thumb: They wanted me to rev to 4500 at Bedford, but had to take a reading at 3,400 instead - it was 98db so probably too close for comfort with another 1,000 rpm?

POST 4Original post
