Eventually fitted two P Zeros at my local Kwik-Fit.

Can't really comment on the other brands as only used Rosso's now for last few years.

Suggestion
P-Zeros would have got my vote as well - just changed from Contis and I am so much more impressed with the Pirellis.

Suggestion
Personally I would always match make and model of tyres on both axles too, though I am sure there are some out there who would argue if it is only used for day to day pootling.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Happy New Year all!!
The two rear tyres on my 996 C4 are due for replacement. I currently have two Continental Sport 2 (265/35/18) on, but I have P Zeros on the front with a 40 profile. Question....
1. Any recommendations? Continental or P Zero to be the same all round?
2. Should the profile of the rear tyres match that of the front??
Cheers!
The profile should be different as the widths are. Check your handbook or Google it for exact sizes (though which wheels you have may present a choice of acceptable sizes). I think that 911s from the 996 onwards on 18s are typically 40 on the front and 35 or 30 on the rear depending on what width you are running though.
Personally I would always match make and model of tyres on both axles too, though I am sure there are some out there who would argue if it is only used for day to day pootling.
Your fronts will be 225/40/18 and the rears can be 265/35/18 or 285/30/18.
[Or fronts 205/50/17 and rear 255/40/17]
The rears will wear faster than the fronts so you could put P Zeros on for now
andthen change them all for Contis next time around. General feeling is to
stick to one brand but you can run diferent makes front and rear, just don't mix axles.

I've got Conti Sports on the rear and Michelins on the front. Will change the fronts to Conti Sports when they need changing.
I haven't had a problem with two different brands on the different axles. In fact, I suspect that having 8mm tread on the rears and 3mm on the fronts would make much more of a difference than having similar tread-depths on the front and rear with different brands. If that makes sense.
Obviously if you've just had your geo done at CoG and you do a lot of track work you might notice the difference, but for mildly spirited road driving I think you'll be fine.
I'm not a big fan of P-zeroes but I can't remember why. I think I had a set in the past that I thought were very noisy, but I could be mistaken.
i also am a p-zero rosso fan. I am on my second set, agree with the snow quote, but then they are high performance summer tyres so no suprises there.
I have got great wear from them, dont notice the noise levels to be particularly high and they have great grip levels :thumb:
Thanks guys for all your comments. Eventually fitted two P Zeros at my local Kwik-Fit. Best deal I could get was £175.50 a piece fully fitted. buying and booking online saved me mega £s!!! :thumb:
As a follow up question...after fitting two new P Zeros (Asimetrico) on the back, I took it in for an MOT this morning, only failing on a front tyre....didn't see that one coming!!!! I've just been on the Kwik-Fit website to order another and book it in only to find that they only do P Zero Rossos on that tyre size (225/40/18) at £117. Would there be a problem putting one Rosso on the front, leaving an Asimetrico on the other side, or would it be best to get two new Rossos?? I would then have Rossos on the front and Asimetricos on the back.....HELP!!!
I personally would not mix tyre patterns on the same axle. Sounds like another two I am afraid
P-Zeros would have got my vote as well - just changed from Contis and I am so much more impressed with the Pirellis.
Just got a pair of conti sport2. All round and fitted including balancing and retention of my chrome valves for £665. Not too bad I think.
I did have p zeros all round but found them to be very s@?$ in the wet. The guy did mention michelin pilots were the yardstick but I was on a budget. What dya reckon?
