Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would test my theory myself but if I get locked out I've got a lot of trouble and noise to get back into it lol

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone. It's been discussed a few times that if you don't use your Boxster for around 5 days then the remote receiver switches itself off and you need to unlock the car with the key. Does anyone know if unlocking and locking the car, without opening the door etc, is enough to stop it going to sleep? Or do you need to enter the car and switch the ignition on? Reason for my question is my door lock is knackered and my remote key works from my bedroom. It would save me having to run down to the car twice weekly when I am not using it over the winter. I would test my theory myself but if I get locked out I've got a lot of trouble and noise to get back into it lol Anyone had similar experiences?

POST 2Original post

I am sure someone here will have an answer for you, but why not get the door lock fixed? What is wrong with it? http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/45967-how-fix-broken-lock-cylinder-20-dollars.html
