Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys, I have been reading this forum for a while now and thought it is about time I said hi  ...
I have owned Cosworths from 350-500 Bhp for the last ten years (I'm 29 now  ), and I think I am finally getting to the stage where I can't be doing with the constant expense and work needed to keep these sort of vehicles in tip-top condition, and need to move on from the genre..
I was lucky enough to have a brief drive of a good mates 996tt the other night, and as a completly standard car it was very very nice..
My big question is, how many of you have moved on from the tuned "hot hatch" or turbo 2.0 rally car types, to a 996 tt? I would love to hear your thoughts about performance and if you feel it has been a good move? :thumb:
I am currently looking at selling my two Cosworths, which should release about 30-35k to spend on a 996 turbo, or I might save a bit and look at a GT2?
Thanks for your input!
Hi mate
I have had my fair share of hot-hatches and bought my 911 at the tail end of last year aged 26.
I have had:
A Ford Focus RS mk1 modified and running around 300bhp
2 X Audi S3s (one standard, one modded with Milltek, remap etc. circa 280bhp)
SEAT Leon Cupra R (remapped and 280bhp, 292 lb/ft)
I have also had a Westfield powered by a Sierra Cossie engine and a 500bhp Audi RS6.
So, am I happy with my 911? The answer is yes! early days yet, but so far so good.
If you can afford to buy one and run it, just go for it. They are very quick and very capable. In another league to hot hatches.
I have had, scooby with 300brake, GTO tt, supra tt, and v8 bm's, I then bought a 996 c2, missus had a baby so sold it, then iv just got a 2001 tt.
go for it! the road presense alone will make you love it, and not forgetting a decent map will take it to circa 500bhp with the same again in torque, BUT you are still gonna get these big bills, I think most people buy tt's with their heart, I have only had the car 2 weeks and already got my first bill looming to fix a boost problem. Im 25 btw
Just dun the same mate moved from a escort cossie to a 996
best move ive made there great cars ,didnt think id ever sell the cossie but after a drive in the 996 that was it :thumb:
