Mine went in Sept so replaced all at the same time as the others were looking pretty corroded, make sure you give them all a thorough check so you don't have to repeat the job.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I had a problem today, temp went right up, I pulled over asap, and there was coolent pxxxing out from the front drivers side, directly under the rad, so I turned off the engine. I thought it better to get green flag out and transport the car back rather than risk driving it back (I was only 5 mins from home). I had to start the car to get it on and off the transporter, temp showed 1/3, and it started and sounded 100% ok, and didnt go above 50% to perform the move, so fingers crossed the engine is ok. So to get to the point, im going to get the bumper off and see whats going on, eventually ill need to fill it back up with coolent, what should i use??? has it got to be porsche fluid or can halfords best quality coolent do the job, cheers for any advice.

POST 2Original post

Hi, Sounds like the rad has gone. Try forestfine.com for a good replacement price. Halfords coolant is fine but make sure you use the same type (colour) thats already in there. Hope this helps,

POST 3Original post

changed my rad i changed the rad on my c4,pretty straight forward but remove front wheel and inner arch its much easyier, soon as you get bumper off its easy.i refilled with 50/50 antifreeze water mix, blue stuff as it had allready had one rad and blue was in it,porsche state 22litres of fluid to refill but you only need half that must keep lot in engine and pipes.

POST 4Original post

Your engine will be fine.I had a rad leak recently and drove for miles to find somewhere (I was in Italy near the Stelvio Pass at the time). The temp was high but by putting the heating on max temp and at full blast and keeping revs and speed down it was fine. Had a recent service and told the garage of my experience and they confirmed all was well. Good luck!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got back from a week away with work, so thought its time to see whats what. Got the bumper off, air ducts and inner wheel trim, had a quick look but nothing jumped out. Topped her up with water......and.............nothing!!! not a drip. Started her up (she sounded sweet ) and took her for a spin round the carpark for about 5 mins (temp read 40c), got out had a look and nothing, dry as a bone!! Any ideas chaps?? :dont know:

POST 6Original post

Hi, It maybe a crack that only shows up when the radiator gets hot and expands....done a few now that look like they are almopst about to explode as the cores have stretched almost to bursting point ! Mike

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Mike Thanks, must admit, the rad did look distorted about 3 rails from the bottom, ill get a pic tomorrow and see if it looks like its that, still amazed that there was no water leaking thou, if it is that.

POST 8Original post

mine was same mine didnt leak untill i messed about with heater fo some reson when hot then it pissed out all over garage

POST 9Original post

Mine went in Sept so replaced all at the same time as the others were looking pretty corroded, make sure you give them all a thorough check so you don't have to repeat the job. The coolant in mine was a yellow/orange colour. TB

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi all, just been upto the car and took a pic of the rad, what do you recon, looks distorted 2 rails up. I checked my bills and the passenger side rad was done in 2008 so if this is the original its about right for it to go.
