As the nearside is approaching legal limit, what's the opinion on changing tyre brands, from the existing Pirelli Assimetricos N3 to Bridgestone SO2 ??

As said get the michellin's and get the geometry done...maybe at opc or someone who can actually set a car up....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there! Is it unusual for tyres to wear on the inside fronts? As the nearside is approaching legal limit, what's the opinion on changing tyre brands, from the existing Pirelli Assimetricos N3 to Bridgestone SO2 ?? Worth getting a suspension geometry check and adjust?? I've had the car 12 months, and it's an 53 plate. Many thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hi, If you're gonna invest in a new set of tyres, get a full geo done. OPC charge less than £150 for this, money well spent. I have Assims on my Turbo, they are fine in the dry, but anything past damp and they suffer from understear I will not be fitting them again. I have SO2's on my Carrera, OK it's 25 years old and 2wd, but they are fantastic IMHO... plus the thread pattern look's sweet 8) Most people here seem to favour the Pilot Sport 2. They also offer a little more rim protection over the stretched Assims.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Worn inside front tyres. Pirellis or Bridgy's? Thank you very much for the gems of wisdom! I had a few sets of SO2's on my 3.2 Carrera over a ten year period which I was very pleased with, but I wasn't sure with the 996's and the preferred choice. I like opinion of the Michelins. So you think the it will be OK to have front tyres different make to the rears for a while??
