Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This portion should not be used unless you intend to permently adhere it with some kind of very strong glue (I didn't use glue and the ring sliped on top of my filter causing a check engine light).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking into airbox mods. HP gains are good, but not reliably believable, so I'm more into improved sound. PSE is in, now to airbox. I've been following threads on these for the last several months, and just did a search to review. All the products, Evo, BMC, Fabspeed.....they all seem great, and any one relatively better than the others depending on the eyes and the ears of the beholder. BMC seems to be my current bias. I though I'd put my concerns in one thread. Anyone here with BAD experience attributed to the airbox/filter? Bad enough to go back OEM?

POST 2Original post

Fabspeed's airbox uses a ring to replace a screen between the intake hose and the air filter box. This portion should not be used unless you intend to permently adhere it with some kind of very strong glue (I didn't use glue and the ring sliped on top of my filter causing a check engine light). Needless to say, I used the stock screen instead of the ring. Using glue would mean never going back to stock. Otherwise, I'm not that impressed by the sound, a good high flow filter and an exhaust is all you need for great sound, even better than air-cooled exhaust note IMHO.
