Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Its sort of gone a dirty rust color and whilst the car always looks clean, the pipe is just plain average at best.

Tailpipe - FYI, the singapore test car does NOT have chromed pipe and after about 3000km of test driving it looks really really crappy.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am wondering if any of you are going to have some things done right way when you get your car. For instance, I am going to do the following as of now:

RussK, I notice you have chrome tailpipe on the list - does that mean you would of wanted that as a option, or do you think it will work better to chrome the one that came with it?
Also, I haven't noticed any after-market bi-xenon lights for anyone. And wax seems high on the list - how soon should you wax a new car, as I know some paints need to cure a few months before they recommend you apply wax.
Chrome tail pipes was not an option for early orders.
No headlight aftermarkets that I know about.
By the time the car arrives any wax/polish concerns regarding time are gone (this appears to be an old wives tale anyway with new paints).
K-Man Sculpture,
I think SF has answered most of your Q's, and I do want Xenon's if I can get them! I would have ordered chrome tailpipes if I knew how bad that standards looks in person.
Aloha Russ
Crazy,
You got talent young man! Your art has a raw fresh approach to it. And I am partial to that blue!!! Keep sharing and talk to K-Man about getting your work on some T-Shirts!!
Aloha Russ
Crazy_Fast,
If you can give me one good stylized Cayman in say 3/4 view as a large JPEG (email it to me) I'll see about getting it on a t-shirt, etc. in the Cayman Club Goodie Store.
Wow, those drawings are choking the server or my computer connection is bad - nice style though.
RussK I agree about the tailpipes, but I am reaching the limit of what I should spend on options. I could probably even make a tailpipe such as that, but it wouldn't me save anything as putting a electropolish finish on stainless is not cheap.

K-MAn sculpture,
I don't remember who said this, but someone said that those tailpipes could be polished out by hand to look like chrome? I guess it is worth a try.
Russ

Its sort of gone a dirty rust color and whilst the car always looks clean, the pipe is just plain average at best. Chrome is an expensive but begrudgingly IMO a pretty important asthetic option.

That creates an RPM (tire, not engine) difference of 42 per mile (790 v. 832). I thought that was a little too much, but finding the right tires proved to bequite difficult.
FT
The theoretical difference (decrease) in dia from the stock 265/40 to MPSC in 265/35 is about 4%. I expect the actual difference to be less since my experience w/MPSC in other sizes is they run large. However, I think that's less of an issue than the front - rear differences for ABS & PSM. I've always heard that there is no problem unless the F-R difference is over 6%. 235/40 F & 265/35 R are about the same dia. so there shouldn't be issues. Of course, it's all theory until there are cars on the road.
Russ, I'm a less is more type of person. A moresubtle approach. I am considering a modest tint, looks great on Artic silver (I live in Florida) , lowered, although I'd like someting a litlte less than the 1.2'- 1.4' H&R spring rate, 5- 10 mm spacers, and intake ,
exhaust
and
headers
. I like that 'there is something I can't put my finger on' look to my car. BTW, Mahalo for your posts. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/shades_smile.gif
If only these
exhaust
pipes were real. The ones in the 'Rivals' film @ the Official Porsche site (
Cayman S
Gallery), it's the part where the engineer burns the designer's hand with a magnifying glass. Those were really bad@$$

Clear side markers, bra (hood and front bumper), radar detector with spoiling. After seeing the standard tailpipe, I will try to have it chromed rather than spend the money for a new set.
I'm getting Carrara White/Black Full Leather Sport Seats/Red Belts
To do:
Add Cargraphic Carbon Mirrors
Paint wheels Red
Still debating whether to paint script and front lips mat black or not
Clear Bra and Wax
Take it on the Track!
Drive it to Aspen!
I tried to spec the chrome tailpipes today and the Porsche system didn't accept it, so as of now anyway it is not available for February builds.
So it looks like I'm in the same boat as RussK and the rest of you that might want to chrome it. The dealer did say he would give it to me at cost at a later date, so at least that could be a future option.
Anyway, I will probably just polish the one that comes on the car myself now that I can't get the other, so I'll let you know at some future date how hard that is to do. (I do have a 22,000 sq. ft. shop, so it will be a little different than for most people though).
Daeton, Aspen is on my list too. Let me know when you go and perhaps we can have a Cayman meeting.
K-Man-sculpture - are you taking polishing orders?/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/regular_smile.gif
Can someone educate me on 'clear side lenses' / 'clear side markers'? If this is the small lighton the front edge of the front wheel well, it is already clear. I'm not seeing other lenses/markers on the side. What is this?
Also, any more info on the 3m plastic film would be appreciated. I understand that this is a good way to protect the lens from damage, and I also understand that they are quite expensive to replace.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
