Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am no expert but have you checked the coolant reservoir as these are prone to cracking.
Leading evidence: 'Check coolant reservoir as these are prone' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coolant reservoir as these are prone' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
It is 1.6 hours to change the sensor (item 24), so you can probably add half an hour to that, at a guess.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Help please.
I have a big coolant leak. The water pours out as quick as it goes in!
It appears to be coming from above the left hand bank. Just to the right of the 2 pipes that exit from the rear of the water pump. You can see the water flow just beneath the rear of the alternator.
The leak exits the car beneath, streaming down the left hand cylinder bank, front and rear off, where it meets the crankcase.
Any thoughts? where do these 2 pipes go? although it appears to be to the right of these (towards the crankcase).
What sort of a job is it to remove the alternator to get access?
And finally why is it when 2 people post about a coolant leak, I get one! the same thing happened when 2 people posted about there actuators :x
Many thanks, James
The green arrow shows the water temp sender, the broken pipe is circled in red.. (also Part 15 black arrow)
The right hand pipe that comes from the rear of the water pump, is the big black one in the foreground. Does anyone know how much the part costs, labour time to replace etc?
And can the metal pipe be refitted? (it looks factory fit and not replaceable). I'll try and get some answers from Porshce tomorrow, but any help is welcome..
That sounds areal pain. I am no expert but have you checked the coolant reservoir as these are prone to cracking. Mine was replaced last year after gradual leak?
Any thoughts anyone?

Sorry mate... hope I didn't jinx you ...
From what I can guesstimate the cost of removing the engine and reinstalling it labour only through my dealer is about NZD $1300 (about 520 pounds). However in my case they reckon they can just drop it without removing it completely, so will be more like half of this I'm guessing. They should get the car Friday at which point they'll confirm it all. But they seem pretty confident of their analysis of the photos as they've already got the parts on order.
These sorts of things are always a worry as the potential for enormous cost is always there. But hopefully it'll be something relatively simple like mine, albeit still a few dollars to repair. Best of luck... Kiwi
Had the same exact issue - The waterpump packed in.
Swapped and worked a treat. Expect part from OPC to cost around £200 and a few more for the labour and coolant topup
Average price from Indy is around £450-£600. OPC standard price (without investigation) was at the time £790.
In the depth of the recession I got this done from OPC East London at a knockdown price of £590, including coolant etc which was around the same as one of the Indy.
The part is £95.63 +VAT. I can't find a book time for it, so you are at their mercy. It is 1.6 hours to change the sensor (item 24), so you can probably add half an hour to that, at a guess. The alternator has to come off to get to it. Also, it might need a top-up and bleed of the cooling system.
