Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My new car has the built-in satnav. Looks cool but is really clunky and not particularly competent compared to the £100 Garmin I bought off e-bay a couple of years back. Apart from postcodes the thing I miss most is the tax camera alerts. What is the solution? Does it have to be a Road Angel or is there an alternative?

POST 3Original post

Tax cameras I have a sure fire way of avoiding these type of camera's..... buy some tax.

POST 4Original post

Get a Tom Tom and subscribe to their speed camera alerts. Or your satnav of choice, assume Garmin must offer similar.

POST 5Original post

Best (and cheapest) solution... SLOW DOWN!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, thanks for the sanctimony. However hard you try and stick to limits, the natty way they have of placing them at the bottom of steep hills, and a few yards into a restricted area mean we can all get caught by the alleged 'safety partnerships' (I have a clean licence at the moment, but have had sporadic SP50s over the years) I considered moving the Garmin into the 911 so as to retain the warnings, I just wondered if the more dedicated equipment like Road Angel offered any advantages.

POST 7Original post

raod angel i have road angel ..and yes they do work but sometimes by the time it goes off then they could of possibly already got you! but normally they do remind you when it enters an area where they are allowed to put the camera's...just make sure you keep up the subscription... and dont rely on it.
