Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Having now seen so many options in pictures (and in the flesh) I have some I would definately liked to have had - but my carhas nowbeen built. What options can you add post build i.e. through your OPC? I'd like to add the painted console for example.
I may add a few options, but I won't have the dealer do it.
Clear turn signals and short shifter will be at the top of my list.......maybe silver seat belts. Other than that I still love the spec that I started out with and pretty much got everything I wanted.
I thought you'd need to already have the PCM option to have satnav. And if you had PCM, that already had satnav with it... Any idea how much the satnav module would be if it is indeed a after-build addition?
Freestyle - I also think about adding the painted console, I like the way it looks, but my arm is likely to rest there and so I worry about that marring it over time. I guess our forum sponsor BumperPlugs can do it, but is their finish as tough and perfect as a factory finish?
According to this parts catalog, you CAN retrofit navigation by retrofitting the entire PCM module with it. Pricey though... more then 2x the price of just adding the option pre-build.

If you've already ordered the car and didn't get the tailpipe upgrade, you should take a hard look at that when it's delivered. I believe clear side markers are the most popular change on any Porsche. Short Shifter can be easily added, too.
When I went to my dealer on Saturday he told me he could save me some money on the chrome tailpipe add. The factory is $586.40, and he says he has someone that can chrome it for less than half of that.

At Porsche I was quoted $29.00 each, however on some other site I think it was Bumperplugs it said $32.00 per pair. So I am not sure what is correct.

Thanks Psycho,
I am sureI will slow down when I get my car (I think) but for now I just have a lot of questions and can't find any friends that will let me talk about Caymans anymore.
Aloha Russ
My dealer missed up my order and forgot to add Auto Dimming Mirrors (internal & external) with rain sensors (P12) and its too late to fix it. Could this be retrofitted[/quote]??
The Porsche web site has a section on Tequipment, which lists some of the post build options you can add...including the centre console - I'm going to go for that. Ideally I'd like it in leather and I'm sure they can arrange to have that part shipped over.

Rfakhri - there's nothing mentioned aboutpost build dimming mirrors. I suspect the difficultyis less replacing the windscreen and mirror, but the wiring!

Any idea how to order the tailpipes shown on this site? I like these much much more than the stock/chrome stock tailpipes.
Nevermind: Looks like its not gonna be avail until march 06

rfakhri,
I hope you ask your dealer to see that it gets done at the same price as the options quoted. He really should have no problem making that good for you.
Aloha Russ
Well myself and otherscan ask our dealers and let you know what they say, maybe it cannot, but a group of the same answers will sure help you know that for sure.
Aloha Russ
I recently brought up the question of the rear luggage partition on another post, but since this post deals with post build options, has anyone heard if the partition will be available for dealer installation by the 1/14 release date. This is something I think many will want to keep things from flying forward during a sudden stop.
Yes. Thanks for the part number. I did a search for Tequipment and found it posted on this site, but it only went up to page 19. This item is shown on page 16. It does say that it will be available 02/06. Has there been any news on it one way or the other? Also, where do you access Tequipment? On the Porsche site? I have not looked there yet.
I don'tfind the Tequipment Cayman S info on the US Porsche site, but your Porsche dealer can give you a Tequipment Cayman S catalog and also confirm that you can have the Cargo Cage installed at the dealer.
