Suggestion

Check sun coast or a direct from Porsche website, I know the switch module with both the front and back lid poppers just pops out of a socket in the door sill, so replacing it should be fairly simple!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

On my 07 Cayman S , my frunk switch stopped working. The rear hatch works, and my key fob opens the frunk. I've reviewed postings online regarding the fuse box, and I've been unable to determine a specific fuse that might be causing the problem. I've reviewed a lot of the postings within this forum, and most outline the problem when you have a dead battery . I don't have a problem here. So I don't know where to start looking. Thanks in advance. I don't know if this makes any difference, I recently replaced the stereo head unit. I disconnected the battery while doing this work. I can't confirm if the frunk switch was working immediately before doing the stereo work. I replaced the factory CDR24 with the Dynavin 8 Pro - D8 PS. It was a real easy installation.

POST 2Original post

It's common for the plastic fulcrum point on the switch to break and as a result the eletcrical contacts in the switch don't work. Replacements are easily available and easy to install. I opted to buy one at my local Porsche dealer and paid the price premium, but cheaper options are available. As an aside, I did disassemble and repair the old one with epoxy glue, so I have a "spare" if it fails again.

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the reply Caymancouver!! Looks like I'll be replacing the switch.
