Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Anyone ever get a P1559 CEL? It's on a 987.2BS I scanned it and over the phone the tech said its an actuator - throttle body. Bringing it to the dealer, but if this is a common issue just due to a limit switch or dirty TB, I'll do it myself. Came on after a track session. Cleared it. Came on again a few days later. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Were you able to solve this issue? I got the same code.

POST 3Original post

Hello I have a 987.2 boxster spyder whit the ob2 error code p1559 you know what can be that? I saw you 2015 post of the code 1559 I appreciate your answer

POST 4Original post

Good morning. Any f/up on this p1559 code? Thanks.

POST 5Original post

I suspect the reason there hasn't been a response is - that code isn't in the Porsche P-code table for a 987.2 2009 2.9L (base) I did some Googling on it - and it does seem related to the throttle valve, but it may be for a 987.1 rather than the 987.2 , or it may only be for the 987.2 /S (my lookup table is specific to the 2.9L 2009). Stuff I found online: That was being asked re a Boxster 987 Spyder... Unfortunately - Porsche also used this same code # for different faults on different models. If it was me - I'd: Clean the throttle body Clear any faults Make sure the wiring is tight and intact Do the throttle-body synchronization (which involved pressing the pedal to the floor a few times, ignition on, engine off) See if the code recurs Good luck and please let us know if you solve it.

POST 6Original post

Agree on cleaning the TB first. Code also comes up as "Oct 18, 2021 — Porsche boxster spyder fault code : P1559 control unit restart durinf operation (warm reset) , possible low voltage. I have relocated a smaller Odyssey battery which is a second possibility, but will certainly clean TB, thanks.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
