What about a new deck, and replacing the 4 speakers with MB quarts or Boston acoustics, and keep all the same wiring.

well if you have most then you will have to replace the deck, changer, and amp, if not then you can work around a few things.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is the best set up for a new audio system in the GT3. Remember that the GT3 has no door speakers. Only dash speaker and rear speaker. Is it still possible to get good sound WITHOUT door speakers?

POST 2Original post

One could easily improve the sound from the factory GT3 stereo just by upgrading the speakers with some decent aftermarket units. However, due to size limitations in the dash and rear it would be very limited in its range. Dash and rear speaker locations hold a 4" and a tweeter.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I thought about the same. I just don't want my car "ripped" apart. I really just want to do the bare minimum as far as disrupting the car b/c it is pretty tight. What about a new deck, and replacing the 4 speakers with MB quarts or Boston acoustics, and keep all the same wiring.

POST 4Original post

focal 4" coaxials for 4" components are the way to go for the dash. Same for the rears but most people say it doesn't make a difference, and I am inclined to agree for the most part. The amp is more of a problem than the speakers in some respects though. You can get the coaxials for about 100 and the components for about 200.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excuse my ignorance but Focal is a brand? I had an audiobahn amp in my c2 but back then didnt really concern myself for the work they had to do to put that in, it was in the front boot. I really dont want them ripping carpet up and drilling holes. Would the newer deck give me enough boost or is the amp really necessary.

POST 6Original post

well if you have most then you will have to replace the deck, changer, and amp, if not then you can work around a few things. yes focal is one of the better brands that is favored

POST 7Original post

i am sure reuss (sp) has a set up for it, costly but nice. jamey at paris audio in los angeles can do custom installs. but i wonder how you can hear anything in GT3. i can even here what my wife is screaming to me (that's why i love the car).... keep the rpm over 5000, you be fine.
