Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just bought the navigation head unit off of somebody and was wondering if it was possible to install just the head unit without installing the navigation dvd and/or the navigation antenna. (by the way where can I find those parts for a good deal?) . I want to know if I need a wiring harness or something to install the unit in place of my single din tape player and a/c controls. I have a 99c2. Also, I would like to know if it would control my cd changer or would I need a harness for that as well. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP~~ PICTURES OF PREVIOUS INSTALLATIONS WOULD GREATLY HELP. AUDIO INSTALLATIONS AS WELL. THANKS!!!

POST 2Original post

it will control the cd changer and you do need to use a different harness. I assume you got pcm1 or what? Does it have a seperate cd drive for the maps? that screen and unit is pretty bad, sorry but you should have spent the money on an alpine one or at the very least if you wanted to do porsche pcm2. You can check out bekker stuff on the bekker board. http://members4.boardhost.com/beckerboard/

POST 4Original post

damn that was kinda mean but he could still pull it off with some work. check out http://www.911pcar.com/ you could prob get the wiring harness from them if bekker won't help. I would go with bekker though. check the link back to the main site and call them-

POST 5Original post

Parkman, If you are talking about PCM1 or 2, you may as well try and ebay the sucker...if its a traffic pro, then no prob at all. By the time you buy all that is necessary to from stock cdr-220 to pcm you will have spent the same amount as if you had a good stereo shop install a screen and whatever other goodies you are after... there are some pics out there of some very clean aftermarket installs, do a search for RobynC...she has an excellent setup...
