Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am on the lookout for a 996T especially a X50 or S. Must be manual and less than 50k miles up to 34k. Black, artic silver or red. I am going to see a few this weekend but if anyone is selling please email me.
Thanks
Paul

34K refers to price.
I'm in a similar camp to you, looking for pretty much the same but could live with slightly higher mileage if well maintained as I really want more of a daily driver rather than worrying about protecting value. Does anyone have a view on how the 996T's stack up as a daily and what to watch out for repair and maintenance wise if around say 50-60k mileage. How reliable are they say for 5-6k per annum mileage given their age?
Thanks
(Sorry hope i haven't hijacked your post but its quite closely linked)
Great cars and perfect for an exotic daily driver, very fast and very easy to see triple figure speeds without really trying.
Comfortable as well, also in my mind the absolute supercar bargain at the moment, really amazes me that a 993 turbo can be £120k when you can buy the more capable and better driving 996 for £25-35k.

I couldn't agree more.... And all because the headlights are a funny shape : ) its a huge amount of car for the money, mid 20's k seems to get something decent and add another 10k and your in the tier one territory.
They make excellent daily drivers, comfortable, practical, capable, stupid fast, not too bad on juice and good fun. Like all Porsches, they like to be used regularly
Have you asked Ken at nine excellence if he knows of any coming up for sale, they look after a lot of good turbos?
A few pictures of the new purchase, suitably impressed with the power and handling even on A and B roads its a revelation after driving my TVR Tuscan which is ok in a straight but not on the twisties. I am currently recording 28mpg which is impressive, must be driving it to sensibly
cheers
paul
Congrats.
I'm surprised this one has not found a good home.

Probably because it's heavily modded - 600 bhp, £70k spent! - and although it's low mileage it's still £38k for a 2001 car.

Nice looking car Paul!
28mpg? - don't think I've ever seen that on mine, even on an extended motorway run. Have you tried foot to the floor in second, or third yet?
I am still "tickling" the throttle at the moment just getting a feel for it, maybe thats why i am getting 28mpg. I planning to take a drive into mid wales this weekend so i should see a dramatic drop in mpg.
Lovely car mate, same as mine. So welcome to the club.
Going Silver usually gets you an extra 20-ish bhp as well
As for 28mpg..........how? Most I've seen, even forcing myself to stick to 70 on a motorway run was about 26mpg.

Heavily modded, don't like wheels, horrible aftermarket rear spoiler, first owner was a footballer (yeah that's a plus!), and why oh why didn't the garage push the car outside and take the pictures? Wouldn't interest me TBH
(It might be an excellent car with high quality mods but I can see why it is a tricky sell)

Congrats on the purchase.

I've been saying this for years; the 996 turbo is a great handling car, but its handling often gets overshadowed by its epic performance.
(and the non-owners just don't like to admit it can do both)
Thought I would post up my experiences after nearly two months, what a car I have enjoyed every minute of driving by comparison my TVR Is if I can use the word is agricultural,. This car handles in such a way that I can only dream of in the TVR. The TVR Tuscan is a great sounding and fantastically looking car but reliability and handling even with up rated suspension is not its is strong point particularly after three breakdowns in a year. The heart strings pull with the TVR and I think that's the problem it's the name and sound that pulls people in and soon I will have to make a decision to sell because it is not being used and that will hurt, but the 996TT has turned my head.
Evening
I ended up buying a silver X50 with a DMS upgrade a couple of months ago - c500bhp.
It is utterly brilliant. I know some say they are a little boring....can have their opinions but bet most have never driven one and boring compared to what?? As a daily road car for town and country road use its is utterly unassailable for £25k give or take.
Leaving the french autoroute in the rain and spinning all four wheels at 70 reminds you that whilst its pretty easy to drive quickly 500 horses need respect.
I looked at some low mileage cars and they needed work....ended up with a higher miler that had had loads recently done and its been spot on. Buy on condition.
Tempted to take it on track!
Good luck with your search(es).
