I need to replace the cracked windshield on my 2011 Boxster . 1. Should I get an OEM or aftermarket windshield? 2. Can/should I trust SafeLite to do it? I live in Northern Colorado, if anyone has a recommended shop. Thanks, Tim

You can request oem glass. When I replaced mine I requested oem and the installer told me it’s all they could find anyway.

Agree with Porsche08 . I suspect OEM will be the only option. I replaced mine (2021 GTS 4.0) and they had to order it from Germany.

Actually - Safelite had an aftermarket glass for mine. They installed it, I didn't like how the rubber edging sat on the body and they couldn't fix that, so they contacted my insurance company who approved an OE Porsche glass (Pilkington IIRC..) which fit perfectly. They did a nice job, nothing broken or scratched that I could find, and the car was clean when I got it back.

That happened to my Class… chit fitting mold. I ordered mold from the dealership and called insurance, they sent the installer back over, no cost. Even worse day on the Tiguan.. the installer dropped the rear view on the screen and cracked it… he never told me about it and there it was… awkward call
