This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my 911 996 turbo out for the first time since I fetched it last week and decided to put some fuel in...pulled the plastic that opens the fuel flap...and it came away in my hand!!! 😠 The car has a warranty from the Porsche dealer I bought it from...but it seemed very flimsy to me ..any advice on how to fix it Back on Please.

POST 2Original post

You don't need to pull the plastic lever, that is an emergency release to open it if the lock gets stuck. Assuming the lock is working properly, just push the forward end of the flap and it will pivot open.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh...on thank you Robert 👍

POST 4Original post

My guess would be that the fuel flap release / lock solenoid has failed if you are using this to open it .. replace / diagnose this fault to save you future grief It's probably the solenoid though .
