Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm considering OZ alloys for my 3.4. I'm not keen on big wheels and prefer 17s but they don't make the 17s wide enough for the rear. Wondered if I could mix and match with smaller wheels on the front and 18s on the rear - if it's good enough for the 992.... Not sure if the size offset is purely aesthetic on the 992 or if there's a mechanical reasoning. Better steering feel and compliance on the front end perhaps? POST 2Original post

Cant see any reason why not other than keeping the overall rolling radius the same. Might look odd but if your happy with that then fine.

POST 3Original post

I'm sure the original Elise had different size wheels between front and back. Personally I'd stick with same size front and rear.

POST 5Original post

What's the max width on the 17 rear? Think I'd be inclined to keep 18 all round if you can't find anything up around at least a 9j rear for the 17

POST 6Original post

I have those wheels in 18 all round on my 993 C4. They make to order (although listed as in stock), I went with exactly same dimensions as RS wheel. Fronts - 8jx18" ET52, Rears - 10jx18" ET65 with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Front 225/40/18, Rear 265/35/18 Love them, so much better feel and handling. Don't look too big.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info. Think 18s all round are the way to go.
