Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just received my Turbo rear bumper from Gert at www.carnewal.com. BTW you should go on his website if just for the opening. He is really great to do business with. Shipped from Belguim via FedEx...4 day delivery The car is at Custom Coachworks in Hyannis sitting next to a Gullwing ready for the transformation. I'll try and ask Dave McGraw to take some pics during the "transition" in case anyone is interested in updating their pre 04 Cab Current "butt" New "butt" to follow..will look something line this, but not with those wheels

POST 2Original post

Don, That rear end will look great on your car - much like the new C4S convertible. Any other mods you are planning? Did you change your suspension by the way?

POST 3Original post

Don, Are you also flaring out your rear quarter pannels? Or is the bumper made specially for non turbo bodied 996s?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Robert, I definitely want to change the suspension. I'm not a track guy so I'm interested more in the aesthetics of lowering. I've got the front end the way I want it, but I've got some silver interior pieces left to do.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Leon, Gert assures me that the C4S/TT rear bumper will fit an 02 C4. Apparantly the flare from the rear is only a little more than a 1/4 inch difference between C4S/TT and narrowbody. The exhaust outlets are spaced slightly differently, so we'll have to horse around with the tailpipe a bit. Gert has talked to several people who have made this conversion so he's guaranteeing it.

POST 6Original post

Don - You definitely have the "coolest" looking cab I've ever seen.

POST 7Original post

Don, Is that "Indy Cindy" really printed on the front bumper lip or is that a photoshop? Nice of you to put your wife's name on your car, have any tattoos? ;-) Also, are they your turning signals in that bumper lip? Thanks!

POST 8Original post

Don: Is the bumper plastic or fiber glass or carbon fiber? Thanks Kam

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Kam, the bumper is the same material as the factory original....poly something or other. Definitely not fiberglass or CF. It's the factory C4S/TT stock bumper.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Joe, those "slots" on the front of the lip are just openings for air distribution. It's 100% stock. However there are a few people who have them covered to get a different "look" Regarding the "IndyCindy"....it's a custom decal from www.decalkits.com Very interesting website where you can design your own lettering style, size and color. I chose a light greyish color so it would be subtle and wouldn't look garish. Decal Kits doesn't have the Porsche font, however.

POST 11Original post

Don, I just completed the addition of the C4S/turbo rear bumper on my C4 coupe. Trust me, it will look great. Congrats!

POST 12Original post

Don, Is Custom Coach the place over by the airport that has all the re-stored exotics??

POST 13Original post

Hi Don: Misty is looking great, please keep Rocky and me informed on the ups and downs. Rocky has already done some research into installing an OEM C4S rear bumper on his '02 Carrera C2 coupe. I was surprise to learn that the OEM C4S rear bumper fits the C2 coupe, (being that the C4S is wider), but Rocky have seen it and said it looks great. Good luck on your install. Bocky '02 Carrera C2 coupe (son's)

POST 14Original post

Don that will look Very Nice!!! Are you leaving the bumperettes off as well?

POST 15Original post

Don, great job you've done on your cab. It looks great and I hope you post pics with the new bumper as soon as you could. I'm really interested in the solution to the exhaust pipes as my bro has a cab and has already put a C4s bumper on it and he's really interested in adding the rear bumper. Any insight as to how to modify the exhausts would be greatly appreciated.

POST 16Original post

Hey DonW, Do you ever drive down Newbury street in Boston? I use to live on Newbury street for 4 years and I would always look down on to the street to watch cars drive by. I can swear that I've seen your car and plate before.

POST 17Original post

Good luck with the new bumper. When are you heading down toward Naples??? I want to see your cab.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

03 Turbo..I'm trying to convince the shop to take pictures. I can't be there myself, but I'll try and gete a full explanation of the change in the tailpipes. Keyvan...yeah I've done Newbury Street occasionally, and have done it with the Cab. I only use it when we're going to my sister at the law firm and go to Stoneham. When I (and wifey) shop Newbury we park on that open lot about 1/3 way down and do the street on foot. Always have drinks and steaks at the Capital Grille...great place. Then you can always sober up on the walk back to the car

POST 19Original post

Don, Any pictures yet? Did I understand you that you are putting a Turbo bumper on a C2 car? I didn't know that was possible.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

boca, they will be putting it on next week sometime...and yes, it's the factory turbo bumper from gert at www.carnewal.com He has seen severay narrowbody conversions in Europe and claims it fits just fine. You may want to contact him for more details.
