Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

In reading the maintenance manual for my new '06 Cayman S I see that at some point the batteries in the tire pressure monitoring system are to be checked, and I suppose replaced if the voltage is below a certain level. Where are these batteries located, and what voltage is required?

POST 2Original post

The transmitter battery is located inside the electronic module which is located inside the wheel attached to the end of the tire valve. It does not appear to have a replaceable battery. Beru Tire Safety System

POST 3Original post

Special lithium batteries are used to power the tire electronics. Combined with the energy-optimised sensor electronics, they allow a service life of up to ten years so it is unlikely to be a problem just yet.

POST 4Original post

You can actually use some out of you main battery.
