Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hey all! So my buddy in FL saw this little gem and is thinking of buying...asked me for advice. But I'm pretty new to this and was wondering what he should be looking for in his PPI. Here is the car: And you can check out the deets here: 2008 Used Porsche 911 2dr Cabriolet Carrera 4S at Fort Lauderdale Collection Serving Pompano Beach, FL, IID 11425594 Thanks! :thanks:

POST 2Original post

Call me crazy, but a 6 + year old (12/7 build) car with 10k miles? Has the oil ever been changed? 74 months = 135 miles a month? Conventional wisdom would say that that unless the car was religiously driven just to get the fluids flowing, it might not be poised for as healthy a future as a car with much higher mileage. Definitely a car that was custom ordered. I would say that your friend should be aggressive negotiating the price DOWN. Low miles shouldn't add a ton to the price. It is out of warranty. If he was trying to trade in that same car, a dealership would savage him over the fact that these cars "fall apart" if you don't drive them regularly and "enough" and "hard enough". I will bet that it is a fun car to drive. That tip plus AWD makes it much quicker than the HP figures would indicate. What are they asking?

POST 3Original post

Thanks...don't know yet. He's still mulling it over. I will pass on your insights!

POST 4Original post

Take a look at the CARFAX. The good news is that the oil was changed regularly. The bad news - three reported owners - 2nd one kept the car 1 month, 3rd one kept the car 4 months. There is also a repair notation from 12/2011 that mentions "engine removed." Suggest that your friend keeps looking!

POST 5Original post

I would pass, low mileage cars are prone to RMS leaks, the fact that it went to multiple owners for a short period of time isn't a good sign. There is nothing special about the car, it's silver with blue interior, for most people, the blue is a turn off.
