"Is better"? What are you trying to say? I don't understand what your saying.

The way a driver should hear the sound of the engine and exhaust is the old fasioned way. Old fasioned meaning it's loud enough outside to hear it inside. Better meaning Porsche uses natural sound through a tube instead of playing the sound through the car radio. Hearing the engine through the car radio is lame and stupid. I don't know if I would be satisfied or tolerate hearing my engine through the car speakers. To much like a video game. What's next Harley Davidson enthusiasts will have to wear ear buds to hear their bike roar. This will be the reasoning for future justification to make sporty cars quite on the outside to give peace to the general public.

OK, thank you for the explanation. The sound symposer is both liked and hated by 991 owners. Some people want to use the sport button but not hear the sound. So they stuff the tube so its muffled. It's just intake noise, not exhaust noise. Others think the car is to quiet and remove the insulation around the tube to make it louder. Not matter what Porsche does, not everybody is happy.
