Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Once my throttle cable became stuck at wide open and I lubricated the cable to stop it from binding but I also pulled the gas pedal back from the ball connection thinking it could have been stuck before I inspected the engine.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99 996 with the non drive by wire throttle. Once my throttle cable became stuck at wide open and I lubricated the cable to stop it from binding but I also pulled the gas pedal back from the ball connection thinking it could have been stuck before I inspected the engine. Now my pedal just sits on the top of the ball and sometimes slips off and just rests against the pedal and it won't go over 3K RPM. How can I get the ball to go back into the hole on the pedal? Do I need a new pedal? Thanks
