I believe it may be an an alarm or maybe a battery problem but it was replaced last year and should not be bad yet.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi folks,
I am new to this site and desperatly looking for some advise with my 996 C2. I have had the batery disconnected fro the winter and on a trickle charger. Since connecting back up and starting to use the car its doing all sorst of odd things - Interior lights come on on their own and drain the battery down / Windows simitaniously go down on their own, sometines all the way or just a wee bit / car unlocks its self on its own and sometimes when left for a while can not be opened by the fob and needs the key in the door.
I believe it may be an an alarm or maybe a battery problem but it was replaced last year and should not be bad yet.
Any help would be very much appreaciated
Thanks
Dean
No signs of any dampness or water in this area, however it was a bosh battery and not Porsche one fitted last year could this maybe be something to do with it?
Thanks
Dean
The Bosch battery is likely to be better than the old Porsche (Moll) one. However, you should check the battery voltage, and the electrolyte levels, as it sounds like a battery problem to me. Does it crank the engine, and what are the voltmeter readings with the ignition switched on, and with the engine running?
Thanks Richard,
I think i will try dropping in another battery before taking the car to te local porsche garage as it has been drained flat several times over the winter before i got the optimate.
Vlotage readings wehn the car is rinning are just under 14v.
Cheers
Dean
If it reads just under 14v when running, it sounds like the alternator is charging OK. It should read 12v when you switch on the ignition. If it is, and the engine cranks normally, it doesn't sound like the battery to me.
All the faults you list relate to the alarm control module, which is why I suggested it might be damp. Best bet would be to get a diagnostic check done.
