Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use (3300mi), one new' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean like clear bra, das shield, etc' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

But I guess I bought some of the normal stuff to keep things clean like clear bra, Das Shield, etc.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello
I am chows4us and haven't posted here in some time. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this but if it isn't, the moderators can move it (or I guess actually I can move it).
I was a super moderator here when CaymanClub started. I bought a 2006 Arctic Silver CS off the showroom floor. They say it isn't true without pics. In the gallery the Bose Speaker shots from a CS were my speakers. I've been gone for a bit as time was precious.
We tend to keep cars a long time and don't turn them over every few years. But in this case, the time had come. We had unfinished business. Three decades ago we specced and bought new a 911 Carrera 3.2. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep it to long. So after 8 years with the CS, my wife told me we had unfinished business to complete. Since I always do what she tells me to do, I had no choice but to let the CS go and buy a new 911.
Sorry about the background for the photos. The weather has been miserable, the winter terrible, and no opportunity to take pictures yet with a proper background. So, snow is snow.
The CS was a true sports car. The 991 is a dream.
And now my business has come full circle. I think we'll keep this one
Any questions, please ask.
OH, good question. The usual stuff interior stuff you get with packages, heating/cooling seats, Bose, etc.
I've found SPASM to be a bit of a pain. I scrape everything. I guess its a learning curve on how to approach the driveway and steep hills. I don't want to think about speed bumps
I also promised myself I would NOT do any modifications of any kind. Been there, done that. But I guess I bought some of the normal stuff to keep things clean like clear bra, Das Shield, etc.
Thank you
Beautiful car! Congratulations! I'd like to hear your experience with the 7spd. I drove two cars, one used (3300mi), one new ... the shift action is notchy in a good way but in both it felt like the synchros were weak ... I thought I was driving a car with a 915 transmission again. The clutch action on these cars was good; better than the Cayman and Boxster I used to drive. As to your memory of the clutch on the Carrera 3.2, I never found those to be heavy.
Thank you.
Clutch is better than my CS, smoother. Transmission feels very smooth. In fact, its pretty easy to drive. The only thing is 7th gear is weird. Can't go into 7th without being in 6th and its just out of place. I know it there for gas mileage, and I believe top speed is reached in 6th, but its just weird. My wife tries to get into into 7th and i just told her to forget about it. Weather is not cooperating so I really need to wait a few days until ice clear and salt gone. Maybe it will rain soon.
As to the old Carrera, maybe I was young and weak
That's what I remember. We had come from a 944 and perhaps the 944 required less press pressure on the clutch. Too long ago to remember.
So for the people who know, what are the normal,
non-performance
modifications of 911s these days? I did what I knew do. Anything else I should be looking into?
Das Schild
The boot liner
This little container that holds a quart of oil. Seems a good idea to me, includes a little funnel and gloves.
And lastly I had bought some flares, not the old fashioned road flares that burn but the modern LED type power flares. Got three in a bag and they blink red in different patterns. They run off tiny batteries for like 50 hours of so depending upon the flashing pattern.
This picture does not do them justice. They are really red and not a funny orange color.
So what else should I get?
