Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for a carbon fiber shifter and hand brake for my 996, and I ran across this one... <img src="http://www.flat-6.net/phpBB/uploads/15178064.jpg" alt=" - " /> ....Does anybody know the part number for this one, and if there is a matching shifter like this one <img src="http://www.flat-6.net/phpBB/uploads/68642684.jpg" alt=" - " /> ...but without the turbo script??? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

You need to provide the leather color also. The I can give you a full part number.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Black leather with grey stitching... Does the shifter come without the "turbo" script, and perhaps "PORSCHE" substituted? Thanks Loren!

POST 4Original post

I think that shift **** only comes with the turbo script. There is another **** that is a bit different (but also from the facotry) that has a porsche crest,

POST 5Original post

Carnewal from Europe has the parts you are looking for, Shifter and brake at a very good price. Many Rennlisters have delt with Gert there and recommend him. <a href="http://www.carnewal.com" target="_blank">Carnewal</a>

POST 6Original post

the one with the turbo script is off a turbo. The one with a colored or silver porsche crest is the other. They are different if you look at them. The one with the emblems are bigger also I believe.

POST 7Original post

Yes you can get these from Gert. The second color for the deviating stitching would be a special order I am pretty sure. Carbon/Aluminum Handbrake: 996 424 980 02 8YR (8YR specs Black... again, you would need to special order deviating stitching) Carbon/Aluminum Shifter (w/colored Porsche crest): 996 424 981 18 8YR

POST 8Original post

Carbon Aluminum look is awesome make sure you buy only Porsche factory original. I bought mine from Bobby at Foreign Affairs in Fla. for 30% off Porsche Factory list. www2fam.com I saved money on the shipping and had my parts in 2 days

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Loren, Is the number for the handbrake the same as one pictured, or is it the other carbon fiber one without the cylindrical outline around the "PORSCHE"? And what the part number is of the OEM shifter with the silver horseshoe and silver crest? Thanks for all the help, and I really appreciate all the input!

POST 10Original post

The handbrake part number I gave you is for the carbon fiber/aluminum one. The carbon fiber only one has a different part number. Sorry, I don't have prices.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry Loren, I don't know what I was thinking, I meant to ask what the part number was...not price...long day.. :-) thanks again.

POST 12Original post

SPR, Where can I get the carbon/aluminum shifter with a silver crest? I have never seen that before.

POST 13Original post

The Tequipment alu and carbon shifters that were avaialable between '00 and '01 had the silver crest. As from '02 the shifters came with colored crest.

POST 14Original post

Can you still get one Gert with the silver Crest?
