Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys. I know there have been a lot of posts about chipping the 996 Turbos and have been undertaking my own research so would appreciate your thoughts. Has anyone heard of emaps? They have quoted £499 to move the BHP from 420 - 470 - doesnt sound bad? I have not changed the clutch and the car has done 39,000 miles - firstly will the existing clutch be able to deal with the increase in power? Secondly, can all the components manage with the extra power - e..g. engine and gearbox etc. The reason for asking is the X50 has a different clutch and various other items and I presume that is to deal with the additional power? Has anyone had their Turbo chipped by Emaps as well? Much appreciated. N

POST 2Original post

Not sure about emaps, the car will easily cope with the extra power without any mods. Where are you based?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 4Original post

i used simon from emaps couple of years back on a BMW 535 Msport diesel and would recommend them. but makes all the difference on a diesel. when i had a 996C4S I spoke to him about it but didnt reckon it worthwhile. but good bloke and good service at your home!
