Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys are there any differences between the 996 and 997 standard silencer boxes?? Now looking to change the zorst to get the nice sound with induction roar.! Standard box but then which way to mod? Was curious about the 997 as it opens up the amount of people modding rear boxes cheers

POST 3Original post

To fir 997 cans onto a 996 you will have to snip 20mm off the ends of the cats and modify the exit poits outward bound by 55mm... Not an easy job but it is possible. However, the best mod is buy some 3.6 cans has these are lighter and louder than 3.4 cans. Then peferm the PSE chop. I have a pair of ready made T304 stainless mandrel bends I could sell you to do that. They will need the fine filing to get them to sit neat, you'll also need to bore the hole in the exit pipe and chop the cap off the tops of the cans before they are welded on (pretty easy to do) Ask Virgin911, the jammy bar steward who is now the proud owner of my 996 what he thinks of the afore mentioned mod... pure ear-ecstacy!
