Suggestion
I'm trying to determine whether or not the issue was caused by the wreck/repair process or it was coincidental because I will be out of somewhere around 700-$1000 for the rental car I have plus the cost of the repairs.

After receiving my 2006 Cayman S back from the repair shop after a collision I am having issues withe the stereo. The unit turns on and the display works. However, here are the issues: -no sound comes out of the speakers while trying to play from either the radio or the CD player on the head unit -also the 6 disc CD changer located in the boot will not register on the display interface, however it will eject when i press the button The battery was disconnected from the car while being towed to the shop after the original wreck. Also a few fuses were replaced. I'm trying to determine whether or not the issue was caused by the wreck/repair process or it was coincidental because I will be out of somewhere around 700-$1000 for the rental car I have plus the cost of the repairs. Thanks, On side note the car probably should have been totalled as it is a 2006 Cayman S with 98,000 and the repairs cost somewhere between 13-15,000 (can't remember) + 6-8 weeks of having a rental car......

I don't know if a remote diagnosis is even possible for this. A couple points that may lead you to a conclusion on your own. Having the battery disconnected doesn't appear to affect this. I'd expect that to be the same for fuses. Was it working prior to the wreck/repair? Would there have been any reason to have been into the frunk/dash area to have disconnected the unit? I'd imagine that collision shock could damage the changer also. Not sure how to prove that one way or the other. Ditto for the repair having caused it. Good luck.
