Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'll definitely use him again and would recommend anyone else to do the same :thumb:

I also want to replace the lowered springs it was bought with.

Also been chatting to Phill @ 911UK with the idea of changing the whole unit to an up to date entertainment unit.

It gradually comes on to factory set frequency then cuts out, then back on again, eventually coming on to a preset station and then eventually the cd player works.

Even if I get the PCM fixed the sat nav will be out of date, the phone won't work from it (doesn't use the Orange network?)and there's no Ipod connection.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Porsche Experts (hopefully!)
I've had my lovely carrera c2 for just over 2 years and it's going in for a new clutch and fly wheel on Tuesday. I also want to replace the lowered springs it was bought with. (I have a steep driveway which isn't doing the front splitter any good and British roads aren't are not at their best).
At the moment the car sits at 625mm from floor to top of the wheel arch. I don't know how high the OE springs would take it, but I would like a happy medium. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Also the PCM is playing up. It gradually comes on to factory set frequency then cuts out, then back on again, eventually coming on to a preset station and then eventually the cd player works. Al the time turning off and on. I've had a chat with Maple Audio who haven't come across the problem before. I'm still waiting for the pdf file to take the PCM out. Anyone got any ideas about that?
Finally, a PCM sat nav disc update? That poor girl on the disc hardly believes me when I tell her there's a new motorway called the M25! Is the only place to get an update at a Porsche dealership for more money than the sat nav is worth?
Any suggestions for any of these problems to make driving the beauty even better for the summer ahead will be greatly appreciated.
Iain.

there is a thread about sat nav discs here
http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=49917&highlight=discs
which might be worth scanning if yours is a PCM2.
The "new" maps are newER than what I had on my original discs but they are still a couple years old, so she'll believe you about the M25 but not necessarily about T5!
Hope that helps
H
The PCM is one of the first ones. I've trawled the net for info and found nothing. I've read a couple of comments that say there are no update discs. not even from Porsche. Also been chatting to Phill @ 911UK with the idea of changing the whole unit to an up to date entertainment unit. Even if I get the PCM fixed the sat nav will be out of date, the phone won't work from it (doesn't use the Orange network?)and there's no Ipod connection. An alternative entertainment unit sounds like the best solution.
Also been speaking to StormWalker's brother about springs and I'm going back to original equipment but thanks for the info anyway.
It was back in early November that I noticed the clutch begining to slip in top gear. Since then I have taken it really easy when driving it, not overtaking anything. That's over three months ago!
When I get it back from the garage tomorrow I'm gonna rag it!!!
hopefully not into a lampost
Finally had the clutch replaced on Tuesday. Does anyone else usually get a feeling of being slightly ripped off after paying a garage and driving away?
That Tuesday was one of the rarer times of feeling very pleased that a job was performed well and a fair price was paid for. The car was taken to a Porsche specialist, Auto 2000 in Bedford. Nick, the proprieter seems a decent guy who wants to do a decent job with no bulls**t speal. He was decent enough to explain to me what actually needed doing and what more than likely, didn't. I came away happy with the job that was done and the money that was saved.
I'll definitely use him again and would recommend anyone else to do the same :thumb:
