Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, Got my air con system recharged and it all leaked out straight away near the drivers wheel arch (the part of the arch connected to the drivers door - NOT near the rads) in a big cloud (very quickly). Does anyone know if there is a pipe or something near there that could have become detached or is this just a leak in the pipe? Cheers

POST 2Original post

Get on your knees. Look a few inches under the drivers seat underneath the car just not far from the sill. There are two aircon pipes running from front to back of the car. One end comes from just behind the front wheel arch and the other end goes up the rear wheel arch. One of these was replaced on mine last year as it had a pinhole leak. They are exposed to the elements under there and are reasy to see.

Thanks UFO - any idea of cost to sort?

POST 4Original post

Hi, If it is the pipe then that is £80 plus fitting plus re-gassing. Depends if it is just the joint where it goes up into the arch or if it is the pipe itself. I think if it isn't obviously coming from the pipe which you can see from underneath then you should take the wheel off, take the inside wheel liner off then you'll see the pipework behind the arch. going up. It's a common area to get crushed by people putting the jack in the wrong place to raise the car. See this diagram. Best wishes, Ian
