Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After using my brakes as a glorified kettle and boiling the fluid at Brands, I'm considering getting a Durametric enthusiast kit so I can bleed the ABS, good plan as opposed to just getting an indy to do it? Pressure bled the brakes 3 times but the pedal is still too long and I'm bored now! :mechanic: Help me obi-one! Thanks J

POST 2Original post

Hi, I have the enthusiast kit, I can't see how it woud help bleed the brakes. I think you need to pulse the ABS module? and currently this option isn't available from durametric. I think :?: Unless I'm missing it. Would be nice if I'm wrong though.. Thanks James.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had the same thought but a new version as below now allows you'll be pleased to here Second release of Durametric 6.0 * Added Coverage for 996 and Boxster (986) * Many new features that are not available in Durametric 5. Here are some examples: o Enabling and disabling the On Board Computer (OBC). Even though this is technically "coding," it is included in both the Enthusiast and Professional kits o Clearing fault codes on Alarm, along with other alarm features like activations and input signals o Brake bleeding o Convertible top calibration on 996 Cabriolet o Activations on most modules o Coverage for every possible control module on Boxster and 996. New for version 6.0: Litronic headlight control(HBA), Roll-over protection, Park assist, and Targa control modules o Coding on some modules o Actual values on more modules o And much more...

POST 4Original post

i am thinking of getting one too does this system work well ity also looks cheeper to order direct from the states

POST 5Original post

Dont forget if you buy direct, you have to include the postage, 5% import tax , then 17.5% VAT on top of it all... It does work out cheaper, but if you buy from 'Hickleys' at least you have support/returns in the UK if it breaks! and it turns up next day... It works well, I haven't seen the brake bleeding option and i am using Beta 6. When I get home from I'll have another look. Cheers James.
