Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello all, I bought a new XM reciever and am having some issues. First off, the mount fits nicely on the dashboard, but the double sided tape that it comes with will not stick. I even tried my own tape and the same thing. How slick is our dash? Anyone have other mounting ideas? pics? tricks? Second, and most important...the reception over the FM modulator is awful. I know its not the greatest anyway, but I listen mostly for sports and talk radio. I know XM sells SureConnect, which clips onto your FM antenna, but where the heck is the FM antenna in the CS? Thanks everyone!!

POST 2Original post

Try using double sided velcro; you can get industrial strength stuff at home depot/lowes. You need to use a wired FM modulator instead of a wireless that will plug in behind the headunit to the antenna lead. Do a search for more details on how to install it, or most big box electronic store will do it for under $100. You can't use a "Sureconnect" type solution b\c the FM antenna in the Cayman and most luxury cars is in the rear windshield.

POST 3Original post

Thanks Suneet, I will call Best Buy this weekend. I have the CDR24 with Bose, does that make it tougher to do?

POST 4Original post

No the beauty of a wired FM modulator is it works through the antenna lead, which every car head-unit has. The functionality will be the same as you have now; sound will come through a radio station. However the sound will be much better, because it's hardwired and there is no static or signal bleeding.
